NY Fashion Week: Christian Siriano
Notable winner of Project Runway Christian Siriano's spring collection was one of my favorites. He was inspired by Mexico's Isla Mujeres and created a colorful,relaxed spring collection. This is one of the first times I've seen him incorporate daytime looks in his collection, showing his range of capabilities and differentiation from his usual formalwear. Lots of coral, celadon, and pastels with florals!

Designer Spotlight: Marc Jacobs
His collections are what every fashion editor writes about. His handbags are the first thing you see when you walk into Nordstrom. His 285 boutiques in 60 countries thrive with good business. His lead role with Louis Vuitton. His cosmetic collection, a new thing for him, but seriously, what more can he do? He's built his fashion empire. His reputation at Parsons was nothing but spectacular as well as the way his fashion label is able to do business. In 1997, Marc was named creative director of Louis Vuitton, and quadrupled the company's profits. His ability to establish himself as a designer and escalate his brand all around the world is truly unbelievable. You can probably tell Marc Jacobs is on that list you make titled "Greatest Human Beings". You guessed right.
